When you schedule a free energy check-up, a Building Performance Institute (BPI) certified professional will assess your home to pinpoint some of the common areas where you could potentially improve energy efficiency, including:
- Insulation levels in walls, ceilings, and attics
- Drafts around windows and doors
- Heating and cooling systems
- Lighting fixtures
- Appliances
- Water heating equipment
Your energy professional also may provide and install energy-saving products on the spot, such as LED light bulbs, faucet aerators, and smart power strips—all at no cost to you! Appointments are typically about an hour and can be performed in-home or virtually via video chat on your smartphone. A few days later, you’ll receive a customized report with recommended actions you can take to further reduce your energy use.
